Good careers don't just happen.  Preparation is the key.

Santee Cooper's Power Associates Program for Electrical Line Workers is a competitive scholarship program that prepares high school graduates to become Electrical Line Workers.

Electrical Line Workers install, maintain and repair power lines and equipment in difficult weather conditions and all hours of the day or night.  However, areas of employment for graduates of the Electrical Line Worker program includes telephone companies, cable television companies and line construction contractors.

Students will attend courses at either Trident Technical College’s North Charleston campus or York Technical College’s campus.  While in the program they are exposed to the technical curriculum and manual training necessary for success as Electrical Line Workers.  They also gain paid experience by working with a Santee Cooper line crew.

Santee Cooper pays for tuition, fees, books, and tool requirements. Graduates receive consideration for full-time employment at Santee Cooper.
